Flexible dentures in Sharjah: a lighter, metal-free partial denture
Flexible dentures are made from a thin, bendable nylon-type material with gum-coloured clasps, so there is no visible metal. They suit many people replacing one or a few teeth.
What is a flexible denture?
A flexible denture is a removable partial denture made from a soft, slightly bendable material instead of hard acrylic or a metal frame. It clips onto your natural teeth with clasps in a gum-coloured shade, so it blends in when you smile.
Because it’s thin and light, many people find it comfortable from the first day. It’s usually used to replace one or several missing teeth, not a full set.

- Usually ready in 2 to 3 visits
- Removable for cleaning
- Often used for 1 to 4 missing teeth
Flexible vs acrylic vs metal dentures
Flexible
Light, comfortable, no metal showing. Harder to adjust or add teeth to later.
Acrylic
Simple and easy to repair or add teeth to. Thicker, and some people feel more bulk.
Metal (cobalt-chrome)
Very thin and strong, good for long-term use. Metal clasps may show.
Full denture
Replaces all teeth in a jaw. Usually acrylic.
Bridge
Fixed, not removable, but needs healthy teeth either side.
Implant
Fixed and closest to a natural tooth. We refer implant cases to a trusted specialist.
Who flexible dentures suit
Flexible dentures are a good choice if you are missing a few teeth, want to avoid metal for appearance or allergy reasons, or found a hard acrylic denture uncomfortable. They are less suitable if you have very few teeth left to hold the clasps, if you’re likely to need more teeth replaced soon, or if you grind heavily. The dentist will check your remaining teeth and gums and tell you honestly which type suits you best.
What affects the price of a flexible denture
The cost depends on how many teeth are being replaced, the size of the denture, the material chosen, and whether any teeth need treatment first, such as a filling or cleaning. Insurance may cover part of the cost depending on your plan. You receive the full price in writing at your free consultation, and you can pay in instalments with Tabby, Tamara or Toothpick. Caring for a flexible denture
Take the denture out after meals and rinse it. Brush it gently once a day with a soft brush and a non-abrasive denture cleaner, not toothpaste, which can scratch it. Don’t use hot water, which can change its shape. Take it out at night and keep it in water or a denture solution. Keep brushing your natural teeth well, especially where the clasps sit, and come back for a check every six months. See our main dentures page.
