Too many options, explained simply

Whitening, bonding, veneers, aligners, crowns: the choices for a better smile can feel overwhelming, and online advice often pushes the most expensive one. This matcher works the way our dentists think at a consultation. It starts with what bothers you, then weighs what matters to you, such as keeping your natural teeth or getting a quick result.

You will get a short list of options with typical treatment time and number of visits. It’s a starting point for a conversation, not a prescription.

At a glance

How the main options compare

Whitening

Changes colour only. No drilling. One visit in the clinic or one to two weeks at home.

Composite bonding

Repairs chips and small gaps with tooth-coloured resin. Usually one visit, little or no drilling.

Clear aligners

Straighten teeth gradually with removable trays. Several months.

Braces

Fixed brackets that handle crowding and bite problems. Usually 12 to 24 months.

Porcelain veneers

Change colour, shape and length together. Two to three visits; some enamel is usually removed.

Crowns

Rebuild a whole tooth that is badly worn or broken. Usually two visits.

Start with healthy teeth

Cosmetic treatment lasts longest on healthy teeth and gums. Decay, gum inflammation or grinding can shorten the life of veneers and bonding, so every smile plan at our clinic starts with a check-up and cleaning. Many people find a professional clean and whitening give them the change they wanted, without anything more.

FAQ

Smile treatment questions

Is whitening or veneers better?
Whitening changes colour only and keeps your natural teeth untouched. Veneers change colour, shape and length together but usually need some enamel removed. If colour is your only concern, whitening is normally the first step.
Can bonding close gaps between teeth?
Small gaps often can be closed with composite bonding in one visit. Larger gaps, or gaps caused by crooked teeth, are usually better treated with aligners or braces first.
Do crowns and fillings whiten?
No. Whitening gel only lightens natural enamel. If you plan to whiten and also need new front fillings or crowns, whiten first so the new work can be matched to your brighter shade.
