FAQ

Booking and costs FAQ

What do I get in the free consultation?
A check of your teeth and gums, an X-ray if the dentist needs one, an explanation of what we can see, and a written plan with costs. Nothing starts until you say yes.
How much will my treatment cost?
It depends on what the dentist finds, so we give you the cost in writing at the end of your free consultation, before anything starts. You can pay in stages across a course of treatment.
How do I book?
Send a WhatsApp message to 050 948 2765 or call 06 715 6001. Tell us what you need and when suits you.
Can I choose my dentist?
Yes. Ask for a dentist by name when you book. See our dentists.
What languages do you speak?
English, Arabic, Hindi, Urdu, Malayalam and Filipino.
How long is a first appointment?
Usually around 30 minutes. Allow a little longer if you need a clean or an X-ray.
FAQ

Insurance and payment FAQ

Will my insurance cover it?
We work with most main UAE networks: FMC, NGI, Inayah, Aafiya, SAICO / Damana, GlobeMed, MSH, Fazaa and Esaad. Cover depends on your plan. See insurance.
How do I check my cover?
Send a photo of the front and back of your card and your Emirates ID on WhatsApp and we will check before your visit.
Can I pay in instalments?
Yes, with Tabby, Tamara or Toothpick, subject to each provider’s approval and terms.
Is the consultation free without insurance?
Yes. The consultation and X-ray are free whether or not you have insurance.
Is cosmetic treatment covered?
Whitening, veneers and adult orthodontics are usually not covered, which is where instalments help.
FAQ

Treatment FAQ

I’m scared of the dentist. Is that okay?
Yes. Tell us when you book and we’ll give you a longer appointment, go slowly and agree a hand signal so you can stop us at any time. Your first visit can be just a look and a talk.
Do you do dental implants?
No. We can close a gap with a bridge or a denture. If an implant is better for you, we’ll refer you to a surgeon we trust.
Does root canal treatment hurt?
The tooth is numbed first, so it usually feels much like a filling. It relieves the pain of an infected tooth. See root canal treatment.
Do you use tooth-coloured fillings?
Yes. We use tooth-coloured composite fillings matched to your tooth. See tooth filling.
How often should I have a check-up?
Most people need a check-up and clean every six months. We will advise what is right for you.
Can you remove wisdom teeth?
Yes, in many cases. We take an X-ray first and explain your options. See tooth extraction.
FAQ

Braces, aligners and cosmetic FAQ

Am I too old for braces?
No. Teeth can be moved at any age if the gums are healthy. See orthodontics.
Braces or clear aligners?
Aligners suit many mild to moderate cases; braces are often better for complex cases. Your free assessment tells you which suits you.
Is teeth whitening safe?
Yes, when it is done or supervised by a dentist. See teeth whitening.
Will veneers look natural?
They should. We plan the shade and shape to suit your face and show you a mock-up first. See Hollywood smile.
Can I whiten crowns or veneers?
No. They keep their original colour, so whiten your natural teeth first.
FAQ

Children FAQ

Do you treat children?
Yes, from around age three. See children’s dentistry.
Can I stay with my child?
Yes. A parent stays in the room for the whole visit.
When should my child first see a dentist?
Once the first teeth appear, and by the first birthday at the latest.
Do baby teeth need fillings?
Often, yes. Decayed baby teeth can hurt and affect the adult teeth underneath.
Is fluoride safe for children?
Yes, in the right amounts. It is one of the best ways to prevent decay.
FAQ

Emergencies FAQ

My tooth hurts today. Can I come in?
Yes. Call us first so we can have a room ready. See emergency dentist.
Are you open 24 hours?
No. We are open Sunday to Friday 9 AM to 10 PM and Saturday 12:30 PM to 10 PM. For severe swelling or injury outside these hours, go to hospital or call 998.
What should I do if a tooth is knocked out?
For an adult tooth, keep it in milk or put it back in the socket and come in immediately.
Will antibiotics fix my toothache?
They can help a spreading infection but do not remove the cause. The tooth still needs treatment.
FAQ

Gums, sensitivity and everyday problems FAQ

Why do my gums bleed when I brush?
Bleeding gums are usually an early sign of gum inflammation caused by plaque along the gum line. Keep brushing gently, clean between your teeth daily and book a check-up and clean. It is usually easy to reverse. See bleeding gums.
Why are my teeth sensitive to cold?
Most often because enamel has worn thin or gums have receded and exposed the root. A sensitivity toothpaste helps many people, but pain in one tooth can mean decay or a crack. See sensitive teeth.
How can I fix bad breath?
In most people bad breath starts in the mouth, often on the back of the tongue or under the gums. Daily tongue cleaning, cleaning between teeth and a professional clean usually make a clear difference. See bad breath.
I grind my teeth at night. What should I do?
A custom night guard protects your teeth and jaw while you sleep. We also look at triggers such as stress and caffeine. See teeth grinding.
My teeth look yellow. Will cleaning help?
A professional clean removes surface stain and tartar and often makes a visible difference. For deeper yellowing, whitening is the next step. See stained teeth.
I have a gap where a tooth was taken out. Should I replace it?
Usually yes. Gaps let neighbouring teeth drift and can affect your bite. A bridge or partial denture can fill it. See missing teeth.
FAQ

Safety and comfort FAQ

Are dental X-rays safe?
Yes. Digital dental X-rays use a very low dose of radiation, and we only take them when they will help. Tell us if you are pregnant and we will avoid routine X-rays.
Can I have dental treatment while pregnant?
Check-ups, cleaning and many treatments are safe, and the second trimester is often the most comfortable time. Always tell us you are pregnant when you book.
How do you keep instruments clean?
Instruments are cleaned and sterilised between every patient, single-use items are used wherever possible and rooms are disinfected after each visit.
Will the injection hurt?
We apply numbing gel first and inject slowly, so most people feel only a small pinch. We always check you are fully numb before starting.
What if I take blood thinners?
Please tell us. Most treatment can go ahead safely, and for extractions we plan carefully and may speak with your doctor.
Can I eat after a filling?
With tooth-coloured fillings you can eat once the numbness wears off. Avoid hot drinks and chewing on that side until you can feel normally, so you do not bite your cheek.

What to expect at your first visit

Your first visit is about getting to know you and your teeth. We start with a short conversation about any concerns, your medical history and what you would like to achieve. The dentist then checks your teeth, gums, bite and soft tissues, and takes an X-ray if it will help.

Next, you see what we found, on screen, explained in plain language. We separate what needs treatment now from what can be watched, and give you your options with the cost in writing. Nothing happens until you agree, and you’re welcome to take the plan home and think it over.

If you’re nervous, tell us when you book. The first visit can simply be a look and a talk, at your pace.

Your first visit

  • A friendly conversation
  • A full check-up
  • An X-ray if needed
  • Options and costs in writing
  • No pressure to decide
